Wakeboarding tricks for beginners and intermediate
Wakeboarding is a fun and exciting water sport that involves performing different tricks and techniques on a wakeboard while being pulled behind a boat. Just like snowboarding and surfing, these tricks can earn you extra points based on style and execution.
Jumping the board to maximum height is the key to performing a trick, and the rider’s edge plays an important role in determining the height of the jump. Heel side edge is when you face the boat, while toe side edge is when you face away from the boat with your chest.

Here are some wakeboarding tricks that beginners and intermediate riders can try out:
Fashion Air
Curl the board behind your butt with your knees pointing down and pop up the board.
Throw your hand behind your head while being airborne for a stylish pose before landing.
Air Raley
Swing your body backward parallel to the water surface while airborne, swing the board and body down, and then land on the other side of the wake.
911
Similar to Air Raley, but tweak your body after swinging backward parallel to the water surface in the air. Then land on the other side of the wake.

Perform an Air Raley while airborne and take a 180º backside rotation while swinging back. Then land facing the opposite direction.
Krypt
After performing an Air Raley, take a 180º front rotation before landing.
Batwing
Swing the wakeboard vertically in a backward direction until the board becomes perpendicular to the water surface. While being airborne, hold the toe edge between your feet using your back hand and perform an Indy grab.
Surface 360º
While riding on the surface of the water, spin the board 360º while alternating the hands to grab the handlebars.
Tantrum
Approach the wake on your heel-side and perform a backflip over the wake on an axis perpendicular to the direction of the board.
Mobius
Perform a Heelside Roll first, then take a front-side 360º spin while flipping. This is an extension of Heelside Roll to Revert.
Whirlybird
Perform a tantrum and take a 360º back-side spin without altering the hand on the handlebar.
Moby Dick
Perform a tantrum and take a 360º back-side spin while altering the hand on the handlebar.

Perform a Whirlybird without using the wake and jump. Use the boat speed and lower body energy for the jump.
Heelside Backroll

Heelside Roll to Revert
Perform a Heelside Roll first, then take a front-side 180º spin while flipping and land facing the opposite direction.
Heelside Roll to Blind
